"If you dance with your heart, your body will follow"
DançAmore basically stands for dancing from the heart which is our main philosophy in dancing. This is a motto which we live by when we’re giving our classes, performing on stage or during social dancing. We mainly focus on Bachata and Kizomba, but we have experience in other dances as well, such as Salsa, Mambo and Cha Cha.
We are Glen & Khristy, both born on the sunny Caribbean Island called Aruba. We have been living in the Netherlands since 2004 and together we share the love and passion for dance. We started dancing back in 2006 at SalsaRoy in Groningen and after a few years of taking Salsa and Bachata classes we moved to The Hague in 2009, where we started our teaching career at La Salsa. In 2011 we got the chance to compete in The Dutch Championships (Bachata division) and we were happy to receive the first place title. After winning this competition we started to teach Bachata at Salsaventura Dance Company and we were asked to give several bootcamps across The Netherlands. This led to our very first couple show in 2011. The desire to keep developing our dancing skills continued and in 2012, while Kizomba began to gain popularity in The Netherlands, we decided to take Kizomba classes and teacher trainings. To develop our Kizomba skills even more we went on a trip to Portugal to take private classes from world famous Kizomba Instructor Ben Pedrosa. In 2012 we had the pleasure of giving our first student choreography course and this led to our own official show team in 2013. In 2013 we also officially launched our own company "DançAmore Dance Company", mainly focussing on Bachata and Kizomba classes, workshops and shows.
Since then we have been performing and teaching in The Netherlands and abroad (Aruba, Curacao and Portugal). Our aim is to keep developing our dancing skills to bring you the best quality in our classes and workshops. We believe that working together with other dance companies and teachers only makes you grow and we are always open for collaborations and projects. Stay tuned for some new projects coming soon!
We would love to see you at one of our classes or workshops soon. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
